09/30/08 - Got a tentative date (10/25) to perform at a dinner event sponsored by Chef Stef. Working with the band and Stef to firm things up. Trying to also get a videographer for this gig.

10/07/08 - Gig is confirmed for 10/25 at the Katwalk in downtown. Looking forward to working with Chef Stef. So far, I like her business model and accumen. Plus, she's from Virginia too. On a personal note, I'm trying to re-focus on writing. It's often challenging trying to balance the need to be creative against business and promotional aspects. While both are very necessary, they both compete for the most fleeting resource; time.

10/21/08 - I was invited to collaborate with 'Atlanta Red'. He's a producer and spoken-word artist. I'll add a jazzy guitar thang on top of his beats. Should be fun.

10/29/08 - The 10/25 gig went well. Eric and Kerry did a great job, especially improvising. All feedback was very positive, although we musicians are never satisfied - there's always room for improvement. That's why we're anxious to secure other opportunities to perform. I can't wait!! Oh... by the way... I'm ALIVE!! The website just went live a few minutes ago :)

11/10/08 - Got a 12/4 gig for Tracee Ellis Ross ('Girlfriends', daughter of Diana Ross); finalizing the band configuration now. More info to come.

12/06/08 - The 12/4 gig went well; lots of positive responses. I used Dave Ziozios (drums) and Mark Pressman (bass). I sent them charts and MP3's via email, but we didn't get a chance to rehearse. They did a good job. Mark also recorded the performance, giving us good feedback for improvement. I'm constantly reminded of the challenge to rehearse an ensemble without having future secured gigs. It's too bad that so many good musicians have short-term visions, preferring to be hired hands for small change vs. investing time in an ensemble to create great art leading to big pay-days. On the other hand, I'm the constant... my name is out there. Every performance has to reflect MY vision, MY message. I won't compromise!

01/19/09 - Added a new song to the player. The original title was "Late Night Guitar", although the current version doesn't give me that image. Also working with Eric Watson (guitar) and Ryan Enderle (upright bass) in another trio setting. It should be fun! Both these guys are accomplished. It's always a pleasure to work with such talented musicians.
